Lopez High School serves as the magnet school of the fine arts as well as the teaching academy for the Brownsville Independent School District. Lopez High School has had many recognizations in the field of the fine arts. [2] In 2011, the school was rated "Academically Acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.[3]
